Moving to a desktop PC

I’ve been a laptop type of user for the last 10+ years.  Over the last two weeks I’ve considered building a desktop computer again.  And while that is a lot of fun to do, I found that using pcpartpicker.com was going to be slightly more expensive than just customizing a PC through iBUYPOWER.  So, I pulled the trigger and decided to place the order.  This is how I configured it and should receive it in a few days:

Unboxing the Eluktronics P650HP6-G

This is the Eluktronics P650HP6-G also known as the Sager NP8156. It is based on the Clevo chassis, a little known Taiwanese brand.  

Specs overview:
This build has a quad-core Intel i7-7700HQ (7th generation processor) with a single 16GB memory stick, with three empty slots maxing out at 64GB of RAM.  The graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of GDDR5 vRAM with G-SYNC powering a beautiful 15.6″ TN 1080p display with a 120hz refresh rate at 5ms response time.  As for storage this one came with a 256GB SSD and 1TB 5400 HDD.
